Description
Summary:This research was conducted in the Laboratory of Biotechnology Quevedo State Technical University. The overall objective of this research was to determine the incidence of human brucellosis in slaughterhouses by LAMP technique in the municipalities of the province of Los Rios. In this study a comparison was made of the technique of isothermal nucleic acid amplification type (LAMP) versus serology Rose Bengal (RB) in the diagnosis of human brucellosis. A total of 84 blood samples were collected from three municipal slaughterhouses in the province of Los Rios with high historical prevalence of brucellosis in animals. An average of 0.84% were positive for the analysis of RB, meanwhile that LAMP was 0%, and is also performed with PCR, suggesting that the molecular technique versus traditional LAMP is more sensitive RB. The results show that the positive sample detection by LAMP technique was more specific and sensitive than the serological test for Rose Bengal, therefore in this paper, we consider the LAMP as a useful tool in the diagnosis of brucellosis and their use for future programs of prevention and eradication of the disease. Keywords: LAMP, Rose Bengal, Brucella abortus, and brucellosis.
