| Summary: | The Project Family Homes San Marcelino Champagnat is developed by the Marist Brothers in Quevedo, in order to reduce poverty levels and incorporate the production of this important population group. In the canton Quevedo, there are few, both governmental and non-governmental organizations providing social assistance to families in poverty and extreme poverty. In Quevedo 70.9% of the population is poor, and this is most evident in urban parishes, according to census data of 2010, while in 2014, the national poverty is 24.6% and 8.2% extreme poverty. The 91.69% do not have internet and 81.7% did not have a computer. 81.7% of homes have tin roof, whereas 13.51% have concrete ceiling. The investigation found that 96% of families receiving assistance from the project Casas Family Marcelino Champagnat also receive contributions from the State through the Human Development Bond, health, housing, among others. The aid project materializes in free education as 66%, job search, health, among others. According to 68% of families the project's contribution has enabled them to save. For 76% of families receiving social assistance, if this has affected economically and socially in the inhabitants of the canton, reducing poverty and extreme poverty, as expressed by 66.67%. The project has improved development opportunities in families, according to 44% and welfare of the same, as indicated by 36% of respondents; why 76% of the population is very satisfied with the support provided and 22% said they were satisfied. These results have enabled deemed necessary to extend the project to other families in extreme poverty, as noted by 82% of respondents. |
