| Summary: | The present investigation studied the water response of the corn crop (Zea mays L.), variety Advanta 9139 in function of the application of different irrigation layers. A randomized complete block design was used with four irrigation treatments during the dry season (August-December): T1 (40% ETc), T2 (60% ETc), T3 (80% ETc) and T4 (100% ETc). The results show that the accumulated evapotranspiration throughout the study period for the treatment (T4) was 522.66mm, followed by (T3) of 367.61mm. The method of the evaporimeter tank in comparison with the Penman-Monteith method, differ with registered values, which the Penman-Moteinh method was the closest to reality, being this method more similar to the direct method of the lysimeter. The crop ratio (Kc) values under ideal conditions in the different stages range from 1.10 to 2.12, which corresponds to a development stage of 1.15, a flowering stage of 2.12 and a final stage of 1.10, which does not resemble the reference values given by FAO. In conclusion it was possible to obtain that the values of Kc given by the FAO are overestimated to reality. |
