Riassunto:Reading is one of the most important learning of the human being, its teaching and constant practice is carried out to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge and wisdom in order to achieve the interaction of a person with the environment that surrounds him. This research was carried out with the objective of analyzing didactic strategies and their relationship with the promotion of the reading habit in upper basic students of the Princesa Pacha school in the Bolívar canton, in the period 2021-2022. The research is part of a qualitative-quantitative approach, based on a bibliographic and field method; For the collection of information, observation, interview and survey were used. Considering the global part of the population, represented by 22 higher education students who were given a survey. The collected data highlighted the few reading habits and that this practice is only associated with the completion of school tasks. As a result of the implementation of the workshop, recognition of this activity was obtained, as a critical, constructive and significant activity in academic training, which contributes to the preparation of the student for today's society and the commitment to their inclusion as an activity that generates enjoyment. and enjoy your daily activities
