Calidad del agua del estero Miraflores destinada para uso recreativo en el recinto San Pablo de Miraflores del cantón La Maná, año 2018

The objective of the present investigation was to evaluate the water quality of the Miraflores estuary to potentiate its use for recreational purposes and within the specific objectives it was contemplated: Analyze the socio-environmental conditions of the area of influence of the estuary; determine the water quality of the Miraflores estuary for recreational use in relation to current environmental regulations; Propose an action plan for the conservation of the flow of the estuary. For the identification of the socio-environmental conditions of the families that live in their area of influence, surveys were applied. Regarding the determination of water quality for recreational use, the following analyzes were carried out: intestinal nematode parasites, fecal coliforms, phenolic compounds, dissolved oxygen, pH, nitrogen-total phosphorus ratio and surfactants, the samples were analyzed by an accredited laboratory , the results were statistically compared with the permissible parameters for recreational waters of Ministerial Agreement 097. The proposed Action Plan was based on the results of the application of surveys and laboratory results with the objective of improving water quality and conserving the flow of the Miraflores estuary.
