Summary:This study examines the connection between public management and the quality of services provided at the Gerontological Center "El Buen Vivir" in Quevedo, Ecuador, during. The research highlights the importance of ensuring comprehensive and high-quality care for older adults, considered a priority population within the framework of national and international policies. Through a mixed methodological approach, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses, various components of public management are addressed, such as strategic planning, resource allocation, staff training, and service supervision. The analysis demonstrates how these dimensions directly impact the well-being of the residents at the gerontological center, moreover, the study identifies deficiencies in infrastructure, insufficient human and financial resources, and a limited range of recreational and social activities, factors that negatively affect the quality of life of the users. It also emphasizes the importance of fostering community participation, ensuring administrative transparency, and adopting international quality standards for the services provided, based on the diagnosis conducted, specific strategies are proposed to optimize public management and ensure a dignified and healthy aging process for the center's residents. These suggestions include increased investment in infrastructure, ongoing staff training programs, the development of comprehensive care activities, and the implementation of mechanisms to evaluate service quality. Finally, this work underscores the need for efficient and transparent public management as a fundamental axis for improving the quality of life of older adults and supporting the fulfillment of public policies focused on social inclusion and comprehensive health in the Ecuadorian context.
