| Streszczenie: | The nursing process is a structured system whose main objective is to recognize the health status of an individual, including a range of actions based on scientific and practical knowledge to promote health and improve quality of life. The present case study is oriented towards the comprehensive nursing approach of a 47-year-old patient, with an initial medical diagnosis of retinopathy due to type II diabetes mellitus, pressure ulcers and urogenital infection. The study was based on Marjory Gordon's functional health patterns and the research was developed by applying the stages of the nursing care process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, execution and evaluation. Nursing interventions focused on the comprehensive management of these complications including glycemic control to prevent exacerbations of retinopathy, treatment and prevention of new pressure ulcers, and management of the urogenital infection with antibiotics and hygienic care. The results have been positive, with improvements in indicators such as pain management, healing of pressure ulcers, resolution of urogenital infection, and an improvement in nutritional status. In addition, the patient and her family have acquired knowledge about self-care and prevention of complications. The case highlights the importance of comprehensive and coordinated nursing care in patients with chronic complications, which has led to a significant improvement in health and well-being. of the patient. Ultimately, the evaluation of outcomes plays a fundamental role in the continuous improvement of the quality of care provided and in achieving the therapeutic objectives established for the patient, through the administration of antibiotics in accordance with medical guidelines has resulted in a decrease in urinary symptoms, achieving 90% of the goal objectives. |
