Čoahkkáigeassu:Agroclimatic conditions have been modified in recent years, which can be attributed to the intensification of the greenhouse effect and its consequences on climate change, these conditions have a significant influence on the growth and development of forest plantations. The reduction of wood production, the attack of plagues and the manifestation of droughts are among others the consequences of these modifications. This research evaluates the hydrothermal conditions in the Los Ríos province related to Melina (Gmelina arborea) through the agroclimatic requirements (air temperature and rainfall) of this species. Los Ríos province has favorable or moderately favorable conditions, with no unfavorable conditions, both for rainfall and for temperatures. Drought and humidification events have a minimal probability of occurrence due to the results of the 25th and 75% percentiles, respectively. Although with some heterogeneities, the province presents ideal conditions for the development of Melina plantations. Key words: agroclimatic conditions, zoning, forestry.
