Περίληψη:Telecommuting has gained importance in public institutions in the canton of Quevedo, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic. The main issue identified is how this work modality affects the job performance of public servants, considering the lack of adequate infrastructure and the adaptation to new technologies. The general objective of the research is to analyze the influence of telecommuting on the job performance of public servants in Quevedo. The methodology used follows a quantitative and correlational approach, with a non-experimental cross-sectional design. The study involved 201 public servants from the GAD of the canton of Quevedo. A questionnaire based on the Telecommuting and Job Performance Scale (TPSS) was used, complemented by statistical techniques such as the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) correlation coefficient. The results showed a variable correlation of KMO = 78.6%, which was interpreted as good and acceptable. Similarly, it was found that the institution provides telecommuting flexibility at a rate of 43.908%. However, the response variability regarding employee productivity is 70.6%, demonstrating that job satisfaction is inadequate due to work overloads and excessive working hours, reported at 65.16%. It was concluded that precise policies must be established to regulate this work modality, which was implemented during the pandemic. These policies should focus on defining adaptable schedules, clear work goals, and actions to ensure a balance between professional and personal life.
