| Sumario: | The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of organic fertilizer on the initial growth of Schizolobium parahybum Vell at nursery level in the Mocache canton. A completely randomized design was used with three treatments and five replicates for each treatment (dose of organic fertilizer). Germination percentage, survival, morphological parameters (height, diameter and number of leaves) were determined. For germination and survival percentage, there were statistical differences between treatments, with the T2 treatment (2:1 rabbit tea) obtaining the highest percentage with 97.61% germination and 91.27% survival. Data were also recorded for the morphological variables of height, diameter and number of leaves, the T2 treatment (2:1 rabbit tea) had a better performance in terms of height, at 15, 30 and 45 days of study with 10.78 cm, 16.56 cm and 17.63 cm. In diameter at 15, 30 and 45 days with 3.60 cm, 3.77 cm and 3.97 cm. In number of leaves in the 15, 30 and 45 days with 18.55, 33.22 and 60.56 respectively. A benefit-cost ratio was performed on the different doses applied at the nursery level, where the greatest benefit was obtained from treatment T2 (2:1 rabbit tea), with a ratio of $1.74; $0.74 cents for each dollar invested. Key words: organic, effect, benefit-cost, morphological. iv |
