Engorde de cerdos LANDRACE X PIETRAN alojados en camas profundas de cascarilla de arroz, con una alimentación alternativa.

The research work was carried out at the estate "San Antonio", located at km 11 of the route Quevedo-Valencia, belonging to the Valencia canton. We used 36 Landrace x Pietrain pigs, with a completely randomized design with a factorial arrangement of 2x3, two types of accommodation (deep bed with rice husk and concrete floor) and three banana inclusion levels 0, 15 and 20% In the daily diet, with the objective of evaluating the productive behavior in the fattening phase. In feed consumption, weight gain and feed conversion were found to be statistically equal between accommodation types and feed levels, while in performance to the carcass the best results were obtained in deep bed fed balanced with one Mean of 67.54%; however, in the thickness of the dorsal fat, there was a significant difference in the concrete floor with 15% of banana, obtaining a thickness of less than 14.91 mm, despite this in the deep bed the thickness Is homogeneously distributed. In the deep bed, higher temperatures were recorded, generating a water consumption of 255.22 m3 animal / week, with a reduced amount of water destined for cleaning of 8.82 m3, while the incidence of flies is low in the Deep bed in relation to the concrete floor. The economic analysis showed a higher benefit-cost ratio (0.38 USD) in the deep bed system including 15% of cooked bananas.
