Yhteenveto:ABSTRACT The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that attacks the immune system and destroys CD4 cells, weakening the body's ability to fight infections and diseases. One of the most common and serious comorbidities in patients with HIV is tuberculosis (TB), a bacterial infection that mainly affects the lungs. The case study presented the application of nursing care to a patient with HIV and pulmonary tuberculosis through the nursing care process. It was based on an exhaustive assessment of Marjory Gordon's 11 functional patterns, among which the nutritional-metabolic pattern and the activity and exercise pattern were prioritized. According to the assessment of the altered patterns, nursing care plans were designed focused on the ineffective respiratory pattern, nutritional imbalance: intake below needs and risk of infection. From these diagnoses, achievements and expected results were determined, establishing nursing interventions according to the patient's needs. The results obtained were positive, with significant improvements in both the patient's knowledge and their clinical status. This study highlights the affirmative impact of nursing interventions on the care and recovery of patients with HIV and pulmonary tuberculosis.
