Incidencia de las actividades antropogénicas sobre la calidad del agua del río trueno en la parroquia Quiroga. Periodo 2011-2018.

This study aimed at evaluating the effect of nearby communities on water quality of River Trueno in the Quiroga area. We analysed the activivities that area affecting the water quality in the river, where the effect of surface runoff on water is highly significant. The general water quality index of the Trueno River was stable during the month of February 2011, and subsequently low in the January-February 2018 period. The current quality of the water is unfit for human consumption and requires prior treatment for agricultural and industrial use. As for recreational activities, the water can cause allergic skin reactions if in direct contact with people. The most fragile aquatic species are also in danger. The local authorities should verify the fulfillment of water quality criteria for human consumption in the Quiroga community.
