Its location is in the Province del Cañar, Biblián Canton, Jerusalem Parish, in its historical moment of the catchment in 1981 was a páramo site covered by pajonal and short ones typical of the area; however, currently they are high rate of contamination from the use of chicken manure, lime, fertilizers, pesticides, overgrazing, opening of roads and small-scale weeding crops such as potatoes, corn, vegetables and others that in winter are sedimented to the river and that is accompanied by its topography that has a inclination of 20 to 60% and in certain places with steeper slopes. It is important to know the integrated management of water resources, being a systematic process for the sustainable development, development and monitoring of water resource in the context of social, economic and environmental objectives.
