Summary:The overall objective of this study was to determine the consumption of snuff in adolescents attending Campesino Health Center Complex located in the "Paraiso" Canton Quinsaloma and specific objectives were to determine at what age and in which sex is more prevalent consumption age begins. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted through a questionnaire called BAGA, which was applied outdoors at 24 users and users of both sexes regardless of socioeconomic level (research period 2014 2015). In Ecuador 914 people died in 2012 from malignant tumors of the trachea, and larynx lip, related to smoking, according to data presented Friday by the National Statistics and Census Institute (INEC), in commemoration of World No Snuff, which is held each May 31. Bibliographic types of documentary research shows that 14.5% of adolescents in the country ever smoked, these young people begin smoking at eight or nine at 4.6% of boys and 1 was used in the study 7% girls, the study says. In 2013, the latest global survey of adolescents said snuff consumption begins between 11 and 12 years with a tendency for smokers are getting younger. That is why it was declared May 31 as World No Snuff, an initiative focused on raising awareness of the adverse effects of smoking and promote effective policies to reduce consumption of that drug.
