This research was founded with the purpose of providing information in the informal sector of the Canton neighborhood stores Quevedo and what their contribution to the informal economy as self-employment units with reference to your business so we formulated the following objectives:  To determine the extent of neighborhood stores contributes to the informal economy as self-employment units.  Analyze the contribution of neighborhood stores to the economy in the canton Quevedo.  Assess progress in the standard of living of the people by the provision of local shops. We hypothesized: "Convenience stores Quevedo Canton, are economic units that increase the informal sector sources contributing to self-employment." We conclude indicating that businesses classified as neighborhood stores, doing their own opening savings and bank loans from their owners, and the profits they generate are an important support for the maintenance of the family,As results of the investigation it was determined that convenience stores are made by family members and by conducting surveys, how to exercise economic activity and the main reason to stay in an activity that is not regulated by the state.
