Resumo:Household waste has been a problem throughout the world due to the great impact it has on the environment as a consequence of poor handling and management, therefore, measures and processes are applied to regulate and minimize the impacts on the environment and the public health a means of control is the management of measure that is applied in the parish of San Luis de Pambil Guaranda cantón reducing negativa activities and environmental impacts caused by poor management of domestic waste.The present investigation was carried out in the San Luis de Pambil parish, Bolívar province, Guaranda cantón, to evaluate the management of household solid waste generated, for the diagnosis of the current situation, a random sampling of 200 houses of the study place was carried out, in which all its occupants were interviewed, to measure the socioeconomic, educational, cultural and environmental education level, interviews were also conducted with two environmental technicians, then a sampling of 200 homes was carried out to characterize the household solid waste generated, in its characterization they were classified as organic such as food remains and garden waste, in the inorganic faction we have, paper/cardboard, glass, plastics, metals, then it was determined that 82.27% of waste generated is organic matter, followed by paper / cardboard with 5.12%, while 4.75% of plastics were generated, followed by 2.54% of metals, glass represents to 2.4%, in wood 1.89% was obtained and 1.03 in special waste.
