| Sumari: | Bovine tuberculosis is a chronic disease of ruminants that is closely related to human tuberculosis and causes a progressive deterioration of the general health of the animal, weight loss, very often with cough and, eventually, death. The impact of this disease on human health and animal health, economics and trade is significant and, for this reason, they are among the diseases of mandatory notification to the World Organization for Animal Health, with the objective of determining the prevalence of tuberculosis in the canton cantonal good faith the Lamp technique was used in lung tissues of slaughtered animals. During the investigation, 280 animals were evaluated, which were extracted lung tissue once slaughtered in the canton Buena Fe and the following variables were studied. ; age, sex, origin and race, 228 animals had ages of five and six years, 100 cattle came from Santo Domingo, 70 5 of the animals evaluated were females, the brahmin race presented greater numbers of animals with 198, of the 280 cattle 157 positive animals were diagnosed corresponding to 56.07% of the evaluated samples, 114 positive animals were females and 138 corresponded to ages 5 years and older, the Brahmin breed showed more positive numbers with 82, and 66 positive bovines were from the Province of Santo Domingo, the implementation of the lamp technique for the detection of Mycobacterium bovis bacteria represented a cost of (3.90) three dollars and ninety cents.
