要約:Public policies on sexual and reproductive health in Ecuador are based on preventing and reducing teenage pregnancy. One of the problems faced by the canton of Quevedo is the high number of adolescents who become pregnant without having completed their studies, thus postponing their life projects. For this reason, this project aims to evaluate the impact of public policies on teenage pregnancies in the canton of Quevedo. This project is very important because teenage pregnancy is a public problem that has consequences in different areas for this age group. The research was of correlational type to determine the factors that influence the increase of teenage pregnancies and the incidence of the strategies implemented by the authorities to control and prevent them. The population studied was composed of women from Quevedo, aged between 10 to 19 years, and a sample of 375 adolescents was taken. Among the results obtained, the relationship between adolescent pregnancy and early initiation of sexually active life is highlighted; the adolescent pregnancy rate in the canton of Quevedo is 320 per 1000 adolescents and the most effective prevention methods are sex education in schools, in comparison with some measures taken by the health sector.
