Omschrijving
Samenvatting:This article addresses commodification and privatization trends in Chile in the neoliberal era by anlyzing the discourses and arguments present in the current educational policies aimed at solving quality and socio-educational inequality problems. To this end, by means of Critical Discourse Analysis and Political Discourse Analysis, it explores the corpus of presidential enactments from 2008 to date to address. The results show arguments that, in loop effect, offer market solutions to the problems generated by decades of educational neoliberalism in Chile. Such arguments are discussed based not only on the sociolinguistic effects that neoliberal discourses have had on the educational debate but also on the need to demystify and confront neoliberal hegemony. © 2020, Fundacao Carlos Chagas.
