| description | This Evaluation is about six commercial Corn hybrids (Zea Mays L.) was accomplished in the Santa Ines Experimental farms, belonging to the Technical University of Machala, located to 5.5 km from Machala. The objectives were: 1. To evaluate introduced hybrid six and 2. To study the agronomical characteristics and their performance. They were employed the following hybrid: H-551, H-601, Pacific 9205, Brasilia 8501, NB -7443, Vencedor 8330 and 2 varieties as witness CIAP-01-E and INIAP 542; the treatments were distributed in a blocks design at random with four repetitions. The variables evaluated were; Days to germination (laboratory), days to masculine flowering, antesis and feminine flowering, plant and insert height of ear of corn, ears of corn by plant, length and ear of corn diameter, rows by ear of corn, relationship grain - gopher, weight of 100 seeds and performance.The averages comparison was accomplished by Duncan´s test at 5 %. The greater obtained it the hybrid NB-7443 with 5 698,18 kg/ha followed of the H-601 with 5 446,97 kg/hsa and Vencedor 8330 with a production by 5 331,98 kg/ha. The hybrid H-601 reached the highest average in plant height with 294,13 cm; while Pacific 9205 obtained the smaller height with 236,85 cm, and the lowest performance with 2 836,14 kg/ha. |

Los objetivos fueron: 1. Evaluar seis híbridos introducidos y 2. Estudiar las características agronómicas y el rendimiento. Se emplearon los siguientes híbridos: H-551, H-601, Pacific 9205, Brasilia 8501, NB-7443, Vencedor 8330 y 2 variedades como testigo CIAP-01-E y INIAP 542; los tratamientos se distribuyeron en un diseño de bloques al azar con cuatro repeticiones. Se evaluaron las variables; Días a la germinación (laboratorio), días a la floración masculina, antesis y floración femenina, altura de planta e inserción de mazorca, mazorcas por planta, longitud y diámetro de mazorca, hileras por mazorca, relación grano-tusa, peso de 100 semillas y rendimiento. La comparación de promedios se realizó mediante la prueba de Duncan 5%. El mayor rendimiento lo obtuvo el híbrido NB-7443 con 5 698,18 kg/ha seguido del H-601 con 5 446,97 kg/ha y Vencedor 8330 con una producción de 5 331,98 kg/ha.
