| Tóm tắt: | Cutaneous larva migrans is a zoonotic disease caused by nematode larvae such as Ancylostoma caninum or Ancylostoma braziliense, which consists of the penetration and migration of the parasite in the skin of the person, by being in contact with soils contaminated by fecal matter of dogs and cats, for its contagion It is not necessary the presence of wounds or injuries at the level of the skin simply by being in contact with these soils can be the presence of this larva. The clinical picture is mainly characterized by serpiginous eruption with a slightly elevated tortuous path in the skin and intense pruritus, the most common environment to acquire this disease is in tropical and subtropical areas since they favor the appearance and reproduction of the parasite, its diagnosis is based on in a stealth clinical inspection accompanied by an interrogation to the patient in search of some epidemiological antecedent regarding the exposure of the larva. The treatment of cutaneous larva migrans is viable in most cases, it can be excluded in a short time the symptoms and prevent their migration to other parts of the body in such a way that they reduce the possible complications, the most used drug is albendazole, a 400 mg daily dose for 5 to 7 days, other drugs used are: ivermectin at a dose of 200μg per kilogram of weight in a single dose, topical thiabendazole at 10-15% applied 3 times a day for 7 days. The present study analyzes the case of Cutaneous Larva Migrans in a female patient of 11 years of age with intellectual disability of 68% treated at the "El Aguador" Health Center in 2017, through a bibliological review and clinical history to perform an educational proposal and prevent the appearance of this pathology. Go to medical consultation for presenting clinical manifestations such as: erythema, inflammation and intense itching, in the right and left lateral part of the gluteal region, with family history, mother with type II diabetes mellitus, father with arterial hypertension, low socioeconomic status and bad hygiene habits. The prognosis of this syndrome of cutaneous larva migrans is good, since it is a self-limiting condition, in which the human being is the accidental host and the travelers are the ones who should be alert when they are in contact with the contaminated soil and skin. Children, because they are the most vulnerable because of their gambling habits, lack of knowledge means that they have a greater risk of being more exposed to acquire the parasite. For this reason an educational proposal is made for the prevention of this disease such as cutaneous larva migrans, which would be of vital importance for the population, since they would be informed of the danger and the risk they run when the skin is exposed to contaminated soils, and by the handling of the fecal matter of dogs and cats without the adequate protection measures since in the intestines of those animals the parasite remains and are the definitive hosts. |
