| Crynodeb: | In the experimental farm Santa Inés, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, University Technical of Machala, the research of the qualities of a macro and micronutrients slow release fertilizer that enhance the growth of banana lateral buds, with the following objectives: 1.Establish the incorporation of the fertilizer Basacote Plus in seeding substrates for banana lateral buds from older corms in order to stimulate their growth. 2. Determine the best dose for each treatment to stimulate the growth of banana lateral buds.The materials used in this experiment were banana lateral buds, seeding substrates, fertilizer Basacote plus, fertilizer 10 - 30 - 10. The treatments were T1. Basacote plus 25 g / bud; T2 Basacote plus 50 g; T3 Basacote plus 75 g; T4 Basacote 100g plus and a control consisting of a national fertilizer 10-30-10, dosed at 50 g / bud. The variables studied in the present investigation were: buds height at 30 and 45 days; Number of leaves at 45 days, pseudo-stem girth at 45 days, roots weight at 60 days, functional roots percentage at 60 days, and length of roots at 60 days. The experimental design used for this study was an analysis of variance, using a single factor with several levels, with randomized blocks consisting of five treatments and four replications. The formulated hypothesis was that applying Basacote plus when planting will improve roots volume/mass, making the plant more resistant to stress compared with the control group. In the analysis of variance, statistical significance was obtained at the 5% for height of buds after 45 days, root weight, root length, percentage of functional roots, this because of the large differences between nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and magnesium levels contained in fertilizer Basacote plus, when compared to the contents of these elements in the fertilizer 10 - 30 - 10. The superiority of the fertilizer Basacote plus was evident when applied in higher doses than the control, achieving after 60 days, plants of good size and weight, within established technology ranges and low, medium and high levels of Basacote plus were compared with the control, fertilized with 50 grams of 10 - 30 - 10, were much higher in nitrogen content, hence the significant difference among the averages when compared to the control. |
