Determinación del índice de prevalencia de la brucelosis bovina en el cantón Arenillas provincia de El Oro

With the objective of determining the index of prevalence of bovine brucellosis in cattle farms in small and medium-sized producers in las parroquias: Arenillas, Carcabon and Palmales (rural) of the canton Arenillas in the province of El Oro, proceeded to the serological diagnosis, Card-Test, 700 cattle. For the diagnosis, blood samples were extracted from the coccygeal vein of each animal with a 5cc syringe and then put it in a test tube that was placed on a slant to accelerate the obtaining of the serum. Subsequently, and through the use of a capillary tube, took the serum sample and with another of the antigen to place them in the aglutinoscopio, at the time that was mixed with the help of toothpicks and a circular movements were smooth to finally to the 4 minutes to do the reading as the optimal time recommended. The 16% of the samples in a random way, at random, were subjected to test in the laboratory of Microbiology and histopathology of la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad Técnica de Machala. The results show a negative index of prevalence (0 %) for the Brucella abortus in the farms and variables studied el Canton Arenillas.
