| Résumé: | In the farm Santa Ines of the Technical university of Machala and like part of the Agreement with the Provincial Address of Health of El Oro, to strengthen the wisdom of practical ancestral of the traditional medicines in the different indigenous communities and more vulnerable sectors of the county, the investigation was developed on cultivation of plants of medicinal use in the farm Santa Ines, for what intended the following objectives: 1. to establish the good conditions for the development of the plants. 2. To determine the active principles of each species selected by means of the respective analysis. 3. The Species of studied medicinal plants were: llantén (bigger Plantago), Paico (Chenopodium ambrosioides), rue (Route graveolens); Matico (Piper angustifolium); Sábila (Aloe vera); balm-gentle (Melissa afficinalis); dulcamara (Solanum dulcamara), nettle (Urtica dioica) and he/she Mentions (he/she Mentions sp). The genetic material, native of the town, was located in parcels of 3,60 square meters. They registered all the events fenológicos and to each one of the parcels they were applied the corresponding cultural handling. The species lion tooth, paico, nettle, matico and Llantén were the most precocious, reaching the floración state among the 30 to 43 days after the transplant to the definitive place, the other species are perennial or semiperennes with floración-fructification cycles that rebasarón the time that the investigation lasted. The chemical groups that contain the medicinal plants according to the specialized scientific bibliography indicate that they contain essential oils, composed by Monoterpenoides, Terpenoides, sesquióxidos, mucilages, and saponinas. The production of green matter overcomes the ton for hectare the essential oils or aromatic substances that contain the medicinal plants they are strong attractive for a diversity of specially beneficent insects and also trips, aphids, acari, the same ones that can become plagues. It is this group, we have the white fly Bemisia tabaci, Aphis gossipi.
