Description
Summary:In order to have information on the main pests, we conducted this study on the incidence of pests in three ecological zones of the province of El Oro, using the technique of sampling by the Monterrey system with large samples. The objectives were to identify or characterize the main coffee pests and monitor the monthly incidence of major pests in the crop. This research was conducted during the dry season and the first month of the rainy season lasting 6 months, the same as that executed him in 2011. The work is an experimental investigation where we applied the cross-sectional and longitudinal panel, where the information was collected at the level of culture in the indicated sites. For the monthly count of pests present in each of these regions, we used the method of Monterey et al (1999) cited by Tandazo (2010) the same was to identify 5 points evenly distributed on each farm and each point is a station located in the direction in L where the readings were made. The results showed that the three selected areas differ in the incidence of various pests of coffee in the Lajas for its lower altitude and bioclimatic conditions the incidence of pests and evil of lint was lower. The sampling method allowed Monterrey large samples have an upper leaves = 300, based on which reliable estimates obtained in the incidence of pests such as ojo de gallo, iron stains, rust, bad stock, leafminer and CBB. coffee areas of Balsas, I present the best environmental conditions for the development of crow's eye, absent this disease in the areas of Las Piñas and slabs. All three areas showed Cercospora coffee with low incidence, without actually exceed 12.1% and the best growing conditions for the development of Leucoptera or coffee leafminer was Piñas area. Finally, poor lint, appeared only in the Balsas area, for the most humidity.
