The objective of this work were the following ones: 1. to determine the profitability in a dairy farm in the Santa Rosa county, El Oro province; 2. to analyze the production costs in a dairy herd with the Holstein race located in the Santa Rosa county. For this investigation the statistics of annual, monthly and weekly sales were analyzed and of costs for the milk production. The data were verified by three months in weekly form. The results allow to establish the following conclusions: 1. The dairy farm in the sector is a very profitable exploitation; 2. The gain margin for a liter sold represents the success of the production; 3. The estab-lished production costs in the country property "Bellavista" they are related directly with the high profitability of the business. 4. The good practices of handling of the cluster milkman influence consequently to the production, where they go related with the low costs and therefore the profitability. |
