| Özet: | As an action to recognize and promote the care of underground water, In this study that was conducted, a characterization of the quality of the groundwater from aquifers in the Pasaje town for use in productive activities and human needs in 2015, considering te following specific objectives: 1. Characterize boreholes in the lower area of the Pasaje town, El Oro province, 2. Evaluate the physical – chemical quality of groundwater used for productive activities and human needs in Passaje town, and 3. Determine levels of contamination of aquifers in the Passaje town. The research was conducted in the rural areas of the canton Pasaje, between the Pedestal, La Union, La Lopez and Cañaquemada, conducting a census of the boreholes in the existing farms and areas where they do not have access to potable water service, and have the agricultural activity, such as farmming of bananas, cocoa, fruit trees and grassland. Development is an site-based analysis using a probe multi-measurement server. It was analyzed the levels of contamination of the heavy metals: like mercury, lead, cadmium, manganese, and arsenic. Water samples that were analyzed in the Laboratory of waters and soils in the Politecnic Superoir School of Chimborazo ESPOCH, Faculty of Sciences Labcestta Laboratories. In the chemical characteristics of the water of boreholes was determined pH levels ranging from 7.28 to 8.27 , with an average temperature of 26.9 °C and salinity determined with amounts between 0.17 to 0.39 mS/m. The physical characteristics, however, differ between a crystalline color, sweet flavor, good smell with cold temprature. The elements, mercury, lead, arsenic and cadmium did not exceed the maximum permissible limit of concentration in water intended for agricultural use, however, the manganese if exceeded the maximum permissible limit in four study sites, with an estimated level of contamination of the soils irrigated, the same reason that causes poor soils and toxicity of the element in the plant. |
