Tilføj Tag | Summary: | Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic zoonotic disease that affects cats and can leave large toll on people. The objective of this research was to: determine the Prevalence Index oocyst of Toxoplasma gondii in domestic cats (Felis catus) in Canton Machala El Oro province during the months of June 2014 to September 2014. An exploratory approach based on the collection of stool in their places of location and conservation in cold conditions until processed a total of 201 animals were used in parishes; Change, Providence and Retirement indicators while sex, age and race were taken . The method used was the analysis of stool through the centrifugal flotation technique processed in the Clinical Analysis Laboratory of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Machala. The results show a very low level of infestation to only one positive animal diagnosed what you report a prevalence rate of 0.5% while this result is not possible to assess the relationship of the disease with the variables sex, race and age. |
