Description
Summary:Coastal and industrial development is one of the major anthropogenic factors that modify and impair water bodies and mangroves in El Oro province, for that reason, the objective of this study was to evaluate the levels of Cd, Pb and Hg in roots of Rhizophora mangle L., considering four locations in the coastal profile of the coastal area of the Province of El Oro, during the dry season and rain. Measurements to determine the concentration of the metal was carried out by the technique of atomic absorption spectrophotometry, the results were expressed in mg.Kg-1 dry mass. The results showed that the concentrations of cadmium and lead were below the detection limit of the method used (AWWA-WEF part APHA- 3111-B) and the Canadian regulations (ISQGs) (Cd = 0.7 mg.Kg-1), (Pb = 30.2 mg.Kg-1).
