Summary:The pre-feasibility study for the production and marketing of honey dew melon for export in the Canton province Arenillas Gold, was monitored at the "Cooperative July 27" Cuca sector, in 10 acres of flat land, being a 100 meters water channel, which analyzed the melon production projected to three months of culture with three replicates per year for 5 years, with the implementation of cushioning system for better performance. Because the objectives were to determine the investment costs for the production and marketing of melons to foreign markets, and analyze project profitability of honey dew melon crop. By collecting all data on honey dew melon crop is stated: Investment costs for growing melons in 10 hectares was USD 181 794.50, of which USD 110 000 was allocated to fixed assets, USD 33 894.50 production costs and USD 37 900 in operating expenses. For the analysis of project profitability Honey dew melon crop was used an index of net profit margin considering the value of net sales and getting that for every dollar sold in 2013: 13.89 utility became net, in 2014: 14.62 cents per dollar in 2015: 20.98 cents per dollar in 2016: 21.38 cents in 2017 reached 21.76 cents. Generating a return on investment of 17.76% in 2013, 18.98% in 2014, a 31.27% in 2015, 32.17% in 2016 and 33.03% in 2017, which generates be a profitable project allowing potential exploit encourage development in our country, with honey dew melon fruit well accepted for marketing and export.
