Izvleček: | All human beings agree that the environment is the most important to meet the life cycle part. It is formed by a set of values and fundamental cultural, social and natural resources for life on the planet. So, the life of human beings depends on the use and proper management of natural resources. Natural resources are the products or riches offered by nature, such as water, soil, fauna, flora and minerals. The characteristics of these resources rely heavily on the physical aspects of each area, biodiversity, climatic aspects, water and bio-physical resources and the potential impacts of the place. These components of nature can be used directly or indirectly by humans to satisfy their needs. In addition, they represent a source of wealth for economic exploitation, so that many countries believe to carry out a sustainable economy based on the use of natural resources. However, despite being one of the most precious human assets, over the past years, these natural resources have been an overexploitation, bringing with it a high impact on the planet. The loss or reduction of plant and animal species affects all human beings. For these reasons, the present work aims to carry out an analysis of the use and valuation that the community gives to natural resources to strengthen the ecotourism development in the waterfalls of Manuel, belonging to the Canton of El Guabo of the province of the Gold, taking into account the environmental and cultural features, as well as also, the causes and effects that prevent that there is a sustainable ecotourism development. The waterfalls of Manuel has a number of natural resources, among these is the water resource that provides its waterfalls, its wide diversity of flora and fauna. This natural resource has become tourist about 13 years ago. Because every day society is more demanding and have time free to discover new places. It is increasingly more interest in the conservation of natural resources, i.e. there is more environmental awareness, so that they are attracted to interact with the natural environment and enjoy of the wonderful landscape that owns the place. The research used the exploratorio-descriptivo method which consists of learning about and studying the problem, then proceed to make an analysis of the fact or situation. Using as methodological instrument interview, surveys and direct observation, applied directly to a sample of 380 people, urban population of el Guabo Canton and responsible for natural resources. The survey was structured by a Bank of closed questions that were then tabulated for the results of the process. These results point to the lack of knowledge about the proper use of natural resources, due to poor environmental training that residents have, bringing with it the deterioration of the environment, in addition to the limited development of tourist activities having a negative effect on ecotourism development. |
