Organic orchards project took place in the Buenavista parish of Canton passage, in college "Jorge icaza" with participation of students from the 8avo. basic education, the implementation of the ovum year took place on the campus of the school mentioned before, with the participation of 35 students and a professor for the field of Agronomy. Before starting the installation of the garden conducted a survey to the students, to learn their level of knowledge about orchards, which resulted in the 28.57% of students did not have any knowledge on the subject and the 71.43% possessed a degree of knowledge, after it was found that students were unaware of certain important for the implementation of the same activities as it is in the preparation of the ground, 75% said not to know how to do it, as well as the time of constructing a hotbed 70% did not know how to prepare it, while 30% at the time of sowing vegetables 68% said not to know how to do it. Also could know that only 15% of the pupils eat vegetables every day, and 28% carried out 4 days a week, this gave opportunity to talk them about healthy eating and a balanced diet, which tell them the importance of eating vegetables every day, which was very well received and understood by students. During the implementation of the garden, students demonstrated a great teamwork representing 95%, teach them students to be assigned assignments each, so that there is a better organization and a good job. To finish fieldwork participated with a group of students in an expoferia performed at school some of harvested crops and nurseries were students at that moment were so "Carmen Mora" of passage, where we intervene with talks on how to design gardens, preparation of seedbeds and organic fertilizers. Upon completion of the project, the students acquired knowledge, abilities and skills, which will enable them to install gardens at home or on the site they wish, can also teach others to do so. |
