For dinoflagellates, are presented with the highest percentage in the Coco site with 27.94%, followed by Santa Rosa creek with 23.43%, the Estero Chivería with 22.94%, and 16.87 Huaylá with site 9.15% Puerto Grande. With Cyanophyceae class (Cyanophyta) the highest percentage was found in the estuary Huaylá with 30.37%, followed by the large port site with 7.10%, the site with 6.84% Coco and Santa Rosa creek with 2 , 51%, not the species of algae found in the estuary Chivería. In class Chlorophyceae (Chlorophyta) with highest percentage meeting on site with 9.92% coconut, Estero Santa Rosa with 7.53%, Puerto large site with 7.1% and 1.68% with Chivería estuary. In general representation and percentage of test results, identified sites for phytoplankton, prove that the Bacillariophyceae (diatoms) dominate with 65.99%, on the Dinophyceae (dinoflagellates) 20.46%, Cyanophyceae (cyanobacteria) 7 , 42% and Chlorophyceae (Chlorophyta) 6.13%. |

El estudio fue realizado en las zonas de Chivería, Huaylá, Puerto Bolívar, El Coco, Puerto Grande, en donde se determinó cualitativamente y cuantitativamente la concentración del fitoplancton de las muestras recogidas y así determinarla en cada zona, trabajo que se realizó en el laboratorio de Planctonologia de la Facultad de Ciencias agropecuarias. Está investigación tuvo una duración de 4 meses, la cual tuvo como objetivo: Caracterizar las especies Fitoplanctónicas presentes en el perfil marino costero del cantón Machala, determinándose que el fitoplancton representado por la clase Bacillariophyceae (diatomeas) se encontró en mayor porcentaje en el sitio Puerto Grande con un 76,65 %, seguido del estero Chivería con 75,38 %, el estero Santa Rosa con un 66,53 %, el sitio Coco con 55,30 % y el estero Huaylá con 52,76 %. En el caso de los Dinoflagelados, se presentan con mayor porcentaje en el sitio el Coco con 27,94 %, seguido del estero Santa Rosa con 23,43 %, el Estero Chivería con 22,94 %, Huaylá con 16,87 y sitio Puerto Grande con 9,15 %. Con la clase Cyanophyceae ( cianofitas ) el mayor porcentaje se encontró en el estero Huaylá con un 30,37 %, seguido del sitio puerto grande con 7,10 %, el sitio el Coco con 6,84 % y el estero Santa Rosa con 2,51 %, no encontrándose esta especie del alga en el estero Chivería. En la clase Chlorophyceae (Clorofitas) con mayor porcentaje se encuentro en el sitio el coco con 9,92 %, estero Santa Rosa con 7,53 %, sitio Puerto grande con 7,1 % y estero Chivería con 1,68 %.
