Crynodeb: | This research was conducted in the city of Machala April during the month until June 2011. Taking the following objectives:1. Assess the physical and the habitat of adult mongrel dogs in the parish Machala. 2. Assess the behavior canine with the C – BARQ in adult mongrel dogs of the parish Machala.The number of dogs investigated was 181, for the previous sampling proceeded to determine the number of dogs sampled in the parish Machala of the city Machala, once it was established through the canine population density according to set dog census conducted by Gallegos, we proceeded to negotiate the number of block to sample and whether it was more than one dog per household also performed a lot.To determine the physical and the habitat of dog used the following research instruments: log sheet that records the results of physical examination and interview the owner. For the assessment of canine behavior C –BARQ was applied ( Research questionnaire and assessment of canine behavior ), developed by the Center for the Interaction of Animals & Society, Department of Clinical Studies, School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. Since the end result that only 2.21% of the canine population is without any alteration in their behavior, 11.05% presented good physical condition and 22.01% have a favorable habitat. |
