Samenvatting:The present study concerning the insecticide potential of vegetal ethanolic extracts for stored grains plagues was carried cut in the Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias belonging to the Universidad Técnica de Machala, located to 4,5 km in the route Machala Pasaje. The objetives were: 1. To test the insecticide potential of vegetal ethanolic extracts for stored grains plagues, 2. To obtain ethanolic extracts from several vegetal, and determine density, pH and compatibility among them for a possible insecticides formulation, 3. To determine the percentage of dry matter lose and damages caused in the beans grains due to weevils spread. It was elaborated ethanolic extracts from dry vegetal matter, it was prepared 0, 2, 4 and 6 % solutions in distilled water, and it was applied over the weevils which were confined in petri in order to test the toxicity grade, turning out to be the levels of major concentration of chili and barbasco the most lethal for the weevils with 90 % mortality. The density of the extracts was measured by evaporating each sample, presenting all low densities that ranged between 0,027 g/ml and 0,05 g/ml, by means of a pHmeter it was determinates the pH of the samples ones decided being all in the classification of moderately acids, and the compatibility by means of the combination of the extracts in couples, in equal proportions, presenting all the extracts ethanolics vegetals residues in the fund without combining completely. To determine the percentage of loss of dry matter and damages caused in the grains of bean for the spread of weevils, there was applied the formula of loss of dry matter, with a loss of 28,61 % of dry matter at the end of the study.
