Sumari:This thesis is based on the stock taking of the main Orchids in Piñas city, Lain in El Oro province. It also studies handle and care techniques. The proposed objectives in the current work were: To make a list of the main orchids and about the technical handle for planting orchids in Piñas city. To carry out an analysis of incomes because of orchids plantings in the investigated place. The techniques were studied in the following way: Plant pot, Drainage, Planting, Placing, Planting on blunder, Care of the plant, Place, Temperature, light, water, fertilizers, Diseases. It was also carried out an analysis of incomes in the investigated place. It was carried out a study about the Orchids which are native and those ones introduced. The main orchids in this place are: Sobraleas, Cattleyas, Brassias, Gongoras, Trigonidium, Maxilarias, Pleurothalis, Oncidium, Boleas, Drácula cordobae threatened by extinction. We find most of orchids according to the climate for example Buenaventura (humid atmosphere) has the Sobraleas, Pleurothalis, Oncidium (obrizatum), Huntleya, Dracula; in the hot climate we find Cattleya, Oncidium (ifematico); Ornitocefalos, Encyclias, Brassia (jipijapense), Aspacia, trichocentrum tigrinum, Dimerandra. A smaller quantity of orchids was from deforested and unprotected zones.
