Тойм:The following investigation about Toxicity of extracts of barbasco in contact tests colaspis submetallica was done in the Parroquia Caña Quemada in the Canton Pasaje in the province of El Oro at the Celia Maria Ranch. Its goal was to find new, more effective natural compounds for controlling adult Colaspis submetallica, which together with other banana cluster plagues cause loses of more than 15 %. The objectives set were as follows: 1.- To quantify the toxicity of methanolic and ethanolic estracts from the crust of the Lonchocarpus utilis, and compare it to adult coleopteron from bananas through bio analysis. 2.- To test the efficiency of artisanal insecticide in comparison to a conventional insecticide containing capcicina (Bromorex). We proceded to extract the actives principles from Barbasco powder through the process of maceration, using concentrations of 300g with methane and ethanol at 80 percent. Then heated it to 60 degrees celsius in a pirex glass recipient, pouring it into ambar flasks storing it for 2 weeks. We then placed the liquid, which had been used for the toxicity tests, concentrations of 300 to 1200 ppm were used, constituting the treatments. Prior observation of 15 specimens that received the discharge from the aspersion, these should be completely immobilized and in dorsal position. The laboratory and farm tests followed the model of the desingn in random blocks with 7 treatments and 5 repeticions as such. The results obtained of the mortality in adults. The best average was the Bromorex with 6.2 percent, wasn’t meaningful in comparison to the artisanal insecticides, the lowest result was obtained by methanolic barbasco with 1.8 percent with a general average of 3.6 and a coefeccient of variation of 42.7 pecent. The mortality rate varied between 28.8 and 82.9 percent with the ethanolic barbasco extract, depending on the concentration of the active ingredieants. A similar result was obtained with extracts of industrial alcohol, this was of 38.7 to 85.4 percent.
