Sammanfattning:Behavior modification is based on the analysis of the interactions between the person and the environment, the history - Behavioral Consequences sequence is expressed. According to the type of consequences different types of risks or patterns of relationships between the antecedents, behaviors and consequences will be given. The various possible contingencies lead to different principles of behavior therapy positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, extinction and punishment. Reinforcement principles are those that increase and maintain the behavior, while punishment are those that diminish or extinguish. Behavioral therapy emphasizes the functional relationships between behavior and its antecedents and environmental consequences that surround the human being, so that behavior modification to redesign the individuals environment for mold to increase adaptive behavior patterns such as skills academic and reduce self-harm , constant movement and attention deficit by children with intellectual disability .
