Description
Summary:The knowledge, control and evaluation of phytoplankton of the shrimp pond "Santa María" located on the road to Guarumal km 13.5, Canton-Machala, El Oro Province, was monitored during the months of October-November-December, taking samples weekly at level of column of water (Surface – Middle – Bottom) at three points of the pond ( Input of Gate - Center of Pond - Output of Gate ). Additional parameters such as water pH, turbidez, salinity, oxygen, temperature were takes. The collected samples were conserveds and preserveds with formol to 5%, after was transporteds to the Laboratory of Analysis "The Acuacultor" located in Puerto Bolívar – El Oro, being analyzed qualitative and quantitatively. With the qualitative analysis the phytoplankton had greater predominance in the shrimp pond of such mode: Group of Diatomeas: Navícula brasieliensis, Navícula radiosa and Nitzchia acicularis; and Group of Cianophytas: Oscillatoria. The percentages of phytoplankton (Input of Gate - Center of Pond - Output of Gate) in the shrimp pond "Santa María" was: Diatomeas 48%, Cianophytas 41% and Clorophytas 11%. While in the quantitative analysis of the phytoplankton it was observed the following results: Input of Gate with 58 041 cells/ml, Center of Pond with 51 433 cells/ml and the Output of Gate with 64 649 cells/ml. In the percentage analysis at level of column of water was determined that in the bottom it prevailed with most high concentration of phytoplankton, representing the Diatomeas 57% in the Output gate followed by Cianophytas with 48% in the Input gate and the Clorophytas with 8% in the Center of pond and with the same value at the Output of gate. Applying descriptive statistic the design of variance analysis ANOVA of a road was used with three treatments by means of the test from Tukey-Kramer at p 0, 05 to establish the variance in the increments of phytoplankton among the referred points, giving as result that there exist not significant difference between the means.
