Resumo:During the transition from one stage to another in the family life cycle there are several crises that would represent opportunities for personal and social development of partner, these disadvantages are overcome when adequately applied coping strategies to the problem or conflict, however, not all people have the ability to adapt, and that is when crises produce emotional instability and psychological exhaustion. In the first stage of the family life cycle conceptualized as the formation of the couple, the union of two links with different perspectives about the commitment they acquire, cause imbalance in several areas, such as: affective, economic, sexual and social, because two lifestyles come together to form a single nucleus, in which there is disagreement on the regulation of the rules of coexistence and establishment of indispensable components in the relationship such as communication, love and respect. The result of the crisis in couples in a state of consolidation of the relationship, contributes to the strengthening of the marriage bond, however, from another perspective, these crisis completely dissolve the union of the couple, obtaining as a consequence the partial / total separation and / or divorce. That is why the systemic family approach, studies in a circular way the family as a unit and its difficulties, reestablishing limits and rules of the spouses, improving impaired aspects through the intervention of psychotherapeutic techniques that improve the dynamics of the marital subsystem and provide results favorable in the psychic homeostasis of the couple.
