The stomachs were opened length wise the greater curve and with top water to extend its inside surface so that it could be seen in its entirety, allowing gross macroscopic examination of the inside surface in order to locate the ulcers; at the time of its location, each ulcer was measured with a ruler to determine the physical dimensions (length x width in centimeters), like physical evidence and located in gastric map previously developed. Four samples were sent to SOLCA for histopathological analysis. The results show a prevalence rate of 6.05% for slaughtered in the slaughterhouse, later was verified great rate prevalence in males (3.45%) were found to females (2.6%) for animals development and fattening up to 8 months (5.79%) for the animals were fed with bananas, fruit peel and human nutrition waste (Lavaza) complement with balanced (6.05%), for mixed races (4.61%) and Pietrain (1.44%); these results are closely related to the origin of the animals of the Parroquías Palmales (4.03%) and La Libertad (0.58%) and the Canton Arenillas (1.44%) place where are the positive animals, therefore the feeding applied. The ulcers were located in the following sequence: 4.89% in the region cardial, 0.87% in the fundic region and 0.29% in the pyloric region of the gastric mucosa. The histopathologic diagnostic showed chronicity of this pathology with activity and commitment specific of the mucosa without apparent damage observed in the rest of the gastric wall (submucosa, muscular and serosa). |

The histopathologic diagnostic showed chronicity of this pathology with activity and commitment specific of the mucosa without apparent damage observed in the rest of the gastric wall (submucosa, muscular and serosa).Con el objetivo de determinar el índice de prevalencia de úlceras gástricas en cerdos y su relación con las variables raza, edad, sexo, alimentación y procedencia, se trabajaron 347 estómagos de animales faenados en el Camal Municipal del Cantón Arenillas, Provincia de El Oro, entre el 2 de Diciembre de 2013 y el 5 de Marzo de 2014. Los estómagos fueron abiertos en forma longitudinal por la curvatura mayor y lavados con agua corriente para extender su superficie interna de manera que pudiera ser observada en su totalidad permitiendo la inspección macroscópica de la misma con la finalidad de ubicar la presencia de úlceras; en el momento de su localización, cada úlcera fue medida con una regla para determinar sus dimensiones físicas (largo x ancho en cms), fotografiada como evidencia física y ubicada en un mapa gástrico previamente elaborado. Cuatro muestras fueron enviadas a SOLCA para su análisis histopatológico. Los resultados muestran un índice de prevalencia del 6,05% para los animales faenados en el camal al tiempo que se constató un mayor índice de prevalencia para machos (3,45%) que hembras (2,6%), para los animales en desarrollo y engorde, hasta los 8 meses, (5,76%) y los de 10 meses (0,29),para los alimentados con una dieta mixta a base de banano, cascara de frutas y residuos de la alimentación humana (lavaza) complementada con balanceado (6,05%), para las razas Mestizos (4,61%) y Pietrain (1,44%), resultados que están estrechamente relacionados con la procedencia de los animales de las Parroquias Palmales (4,03%) y La libertad (0,58%) y el Cantón Arenillas (1,44%) en donde se ubican los animales positivos y por lo tanto con el sistema de alimentación empleado. Las úlceras fueron ubicadas en el siguiente orden: 4,89% en la región cardial, 0,87% en la región fúndica y 0,29%.en la región pilórica de la mucosa gástrica.
