| الملخص: | A phytochemical screening of the species Iresine herbstii was performed and determined qualitatively the presence of fats, alkaloids, triterpenes, steroids, saponins, phenols and flavonoids. Of the aerial parts of the plant extracts total were obtained : hexane, ethyl acetate and metanol, which were fractionated by chromatographic techniques, to isolate and purify the active substance. The procedure was bioassay-guided with broth microdilution tests, using different bacterial strains. The ethyl acetate extract showed good antibacterial activity of 62.5 μg / ml against S.aureus. The total phenolic content was evaluated with the Folin-Cicolteau, and the antioxidant activity of the ethereal and aqueous ethanolic extracts, to methods of DPPH and ABTS. Aqueous and ethanolic extracts showed better antioxidant response both DPPH, ABTS and phenolic compound. The active substance was elucidated by NMR and GC-MS, the tlatlancuayine isoflavonoid (C18H12O6) isolated from the ethyl acetate extract |
