Sumario:This research project "Recovery of gold by flotation tailings and gravimetry from artisanal mining in La Herradura-Chinapintza" seeks to improve the recovery of gold from tailings more effective as flotation and methods Knelson centrifugal concentrator. The results correspond to the sector La Herradura - Chinapintza ; were analyzed in the laboratory of Department of Metallurgy Geology and Mines. Both the mineralogical analysis by microscopy and X-ray diffractometry, determined the minerals which make up the tailings: pyrite (FeS2), sphalerite (ZnS), and others. For the screen analysis optimizing Milling was performed at different times 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 minutes, to obtain the particle size distribution of gold. The best results Flotation was obtained in the mesh # 200.2 with collector Aerofloat 25-31 with a gold range recovery of 31.76%; in the same way applying Knelson concentrator the best range recovery was 42,28 %, in mesh # 163,8 with 1PSI. A combination of methods was developed, where the best gold recovery was 53.76% which is good
