| description | Abstract:Design of over-thickness of flexible pavements by the AASHTO 1998 method is the most used worldwide. It s based on formulas, tables and abacus, which can confuse inexperienced designer. For this limitation, there are many calculation tools which unfortunately don´t show the detail of their calculations. Thus, this research pretends to develop a software for the estimation of layer thicknesses for the rehabilitation of flexible pavements by the AASHTO 1998 method using HTML and JavaScript. This software can sequentially show the calculation procedure in order that the user understands the method and uses it at an academic and/or professional level. Before the programming, the abacus equations were obtained and the logic that the software should have was clarified. With this information the software was programmed, which is on a web page. If the user registers, he can have access to the calculation details, showing abacuses and equations used; otherwise, only a summary of the data used with their respective results will be shown. |
