Shrnutí: | The aim is to establish the main causes of morbidity and mortality in elderly patients 15 years hospitalized for surgical treatment in the hospital UTPL by reviewing medical records in order to help build their epidemiological profile. The methodology is retrospective, cross-sectional descriptive analysis, quantitative approach to morbidity and mortality in hospitalized patients UTPL hospital surgeries during May 2007-April 2012. In the results the main causes of surgical morbidity and mortality are: 15.63% cesarean and cholelithiasis, fractures of multiple body regions 10,19%, followed by appendicitis with 7.77%, 6.31% single spontaneous delivery and inguinal hernias and umbilical 5.83%, spontaneous abortion and dislocated septal deviation 4.85% and 4.37%, with a predominance of the female gender 62%. In conclusion, the predominant age group is 20 to 35 years (50%), female on male (62% and 38%); higher cesarean pathology incidence and cholelithiasis with 15.63%, and lower incidence of septal deviation 4.37%, it should be emphasized that it has not found any connection with any surgical intervention or any specialty complication. |
