description A Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) experimental equipment is one of the powerful techniques in researching electronic transport properties through nano-contacts. The present experimental thesis is about the manufacture of low-cost, innovative, and compact equipment that exhibits the phenomenon of quantization of conductance at the nanoscale with a macroscopic gold wire joined with gold on glass substrates Au[111] terraces (product of ArrandeTM company) to perform Jump-to-Contact (JC) and Jump-Out-Contact (JOC) process. In other words, both objects interact, causing indentation and formation atomic on the film gold surface at a frequency of 10Hz DC, and then extract the respective data to perform statistical analysis. Within this framework, a histogram is built from conductance traces measurements at room conditions with results similar to STM’s employed in research institutes. Furthermore, it can display until a double chain (second peak) in the conductance histogram with data acquired from the ImageJ digitizer reported in the literature in chapter 4. This experimental equipment will be used as a pedagogical tool in the academy or in the nano-devices laboratory for developing new ideas for future projects and incentives to collaborate with other universities.

La presente tesis experimental trata sobre la fabricación de un equipo de bajo costo, innovador y compacto que exhiben el fenómeno de cuantificación de la conductancia a escala nanometrica junto con un alambre de oro macroscópico y un plato de oro [111] (producto de la compañía ArrandeTM) para realizar el proceso de salto al contacto (JC) y salto fuera del contacto (JOC). En otras palabras, ambos objetos interaccionan provocando una ruptura y formación atómica en la superficie del film de oro a una frecuencia de 10Hz y luego extraer los respectivos datos para realizar un análisis estadístico. Dentro de este marco, se construye un histograma a partir de mediciones de trazas de conductancia en condiciones de habitación con resultados similares a los STM empleados en institutos de investigación. Incluso, puede mostrar hasta una cadena doble (segundo pico) en el histograma de conductancia según los datos adquiridos con el digitalizador de ImageJ.
