| Zusammenfassung: | The Napo Sumaco Geopark, an aspiring UNESCO Global Geopark, is one of the geographic areas of great regional importance within the Ecuadorian territory and the Amazon River basin, which allows initiatives for geoscience education and the preservation and promotion of tourism due to its enormous geodiversity and biodiversity. The study focuses on 16 previously studied geological sites and 3 new sites of geological interest: Río Pucuno, Cantera Wawa Sumaco and Puka Urku proposed in the current research. The objective of this research contributed to the scientific development of the Geopark by identifying and gathering existing information on the geological diversity present in the area through the implementation of computer technology tools and the introduction of new geological sites. For this, six stages of work were carried out: geological data collection campaigns, petrographic, chemical, structural, sedimentary analysis and the elaboration of the application developed with GIS mapping software (ArcGIS) and using the development applications: Experience Builder, and Flutterflow. The results of the project included the identification and compilation of information previously collected from existing geological sites; the geological survey of the two proposed geological sites, and the creation of the digital map within the application. Finally, this study contributes significantly to the scientific development and geotourism promotion of the Napo Sumaco Geopark and contributes to the basis for its recognition as part of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network. |
