Descrição
Resumo:Coordination polymers known as Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are distinguished by their large surface area, uniform porosity, and wide range of applications. The main components of MOFs are metal ions or groups that are coordinated by organic ligands to create crystalline polymers. The three generations of these coordination polymers range from structural utility molecules to stimulus-sensitive MOFs. Hydro-thermal synthesis was performed and the following metal salts: ammonium heptamolybdate, zinc(II) acetate, and phosphoric acid for their respective metal ions to obtain the desired Keggin POM structure. The different samples obtained were characterized by FTIR and especially by XRD. The phases identified by XRD included compounds containing the elements used, as well as counter-ions and/or water molecules in the coordination sphere. The coordination polymers identified containing Mo (VI) and Mo (V) presented high hygroscopic behavior, although they could not be evaluated to analyze their potential as organic absorbents. The characterization of these compounds was made from the phases identified by XRD, the simulated XRD patterns were compared with the experimental patterns. On the other hand, the synthesis of the desired Keggin structure was performed by different methods, where a previous reduction of molybdenum (VI) is very important, so a novel methodology was made to combine different methodologies cited in the literature to achieve this objective.
