总结: | The aim of this research was to analyze the feasibility of a chip processing plant using the tuber of arrowleaf elephant's ear (Xanthosoma sagittifolium) in the municipality of Chone. We sent a questionnaire to a representative sample of urban citizens ranging from 15 to 50 years of age. Results showed an acceptance percentage of 73.49%, with a total demand of 5,275.68 kg of chips per year, and a per capita consumption of 0.16 kg/year (consumption frequency of 4 units per person). We estimated a total of 124,440 units per month and 1,493,280 per year, reaching 5% of total demand for the first year. Through the technical study, we determined the utilized capacity on the basis of available raw material, which is 5000 kg/day, and using equipment to maximize the use of arrowleaf elephant's ear tuber. Leopold matrix showed that the actions with the most negative impacts are the generation of domestic solid and liquid wastes, all of which can be reduced through the application of environmental impact mitigation measures. Among the most affected environmental characteristics, we found the following: health, weather and fauna. Total project investment reached USD 199,387.48, with a net present value (NPV) of USD 386.139,33 and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 43%. The calculated payback period was 2 years, seven months and 3 days. |
